Heather & Lee : Tewin Bury Farm Wedding – London Wedding Photographer

Heather and Lee’s wedding at Tewin Bury farm last month was an absolute pleasure to shoot. It was set in a 17th century farmhouse which has converted farm buildings and is located in the Hertfordshire countryside.

Heather’s looked beautiful in her dress and my favourite part of the day after the ceremony was definitely shooting their portraits. We even snuck in another portrait session during the reception.

Lee gave a great speech which had everyone in hysterics and I loved capturing some intimate moments between  Heather and Lee during their first dance.

Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your day.

Here are some of my favourite images ..

Congratulations Heather & Lee!

All the best,

Sachin

Heather - Wonderful work! I adore the lighting. Your detail shots are especially fabulous!

Amanda Donaho - Lovely job, Sachin!!

David Levantis - This is a really impressive selection. I really like the composition with the groom and the ushers in the formation outside the building – you’ve worked with the lines to create a brilliant composition. Also really like the one with the wooden beams background above them in the ceremony – great use of negative space. It can be hard to be original with wedding photos, but you’ve managed it there :)

Las Vegas & WPPI

Viva!

MGM Grand – The venue for WPPI

WPPI: A review

Last week I flew out to the Las Vegas to attend WPPI, a photography conference and trade show which was held at the MGM Convention center. There were speakers from all over the world sharing their experiences and knowledge on pretty much everything to do with the photography industry from technique, lighting, posing, marketing, SEO, workflow, branding and much more…

A few people asked me why I flew out all the way from Merry Olde England to go to Las Vegas for WPPI. So I thought I’d share it with you all..

1. To learn from the best. A lot of the best portrait and wedding photographers & teachers attend WPPI and I was able to listen and meet some of the best in the industry and that is essential to my growth as a photographer.

2. To network with my peers. I was able to meet a lot of photographers face to face, whom I was so only ever able speak to over forums such as The B School, The Ice Society and The Showit Group on facebook.

3. To meet vendors. This was a great way for me to find out about new resources/changes in the industry and technology directly from the vendors.

4. To go to Vegas (like that wasn’t a selling points in itself!) Ha!

5. For the experience. I feel like the last week was one of the best experiences ever. I learnt so much and now feel so much clearer in my goals both personally and for my business.

Highlights

The B School party. I was able to meet so many people that I regularly speak to and get feedback from within the forums. Thanks Becker for organising a fun night!

Hearing Jerry Ghionis. I learn so much from him each time he speaks and learn a lot from The Ice Society, a great resource for photographers. He also showcased his images from his wedding, some of which he shot himself. You can check them out here.

Other great speakers I heard were Jerry Avenaim, Jim Garner, Zach and Jody Gray, Cliff Mautner and Art Suwansang.

Photographers Ignite Hearing so many speakers in one room speak for 5 minutes each was very interesting and fun! I definitely recommend checking out the replay of this when its live. I also created a list of all the photographers from ignite on twitter. You can follow it here

I think next year I’ll go to some more classes where I can shoot, it was awesome to shoot in London with Beckstead at SWPP in January. Shooting in the desert in Vegas is one thing I still need to cross off my list!

Here are some more images from the week …

Becker also organised to take some head shots for members of the B School and any one else who wanted to go. I jumped at the chance! You can check out everyone’s head shots here. Thanks B for the awesome headshot!

I decided to organise a shoot out in Vegas and tweeted if anyone wanted to meet up. Several photographers replied and altogether there were 7 or so of us. After some complications with the models, Raven Mathis and Lacy Lange kindly allowed the group to shoot them before they went to a 50′s party they were going to that night. Thank you so much guys! We all had a blast.

Here are a few of the images..

Raven

Lacy

We then headed outside on the Vegas strip and was able to take this of Raven

Here are a few images I took while walking around on the last day of WPPI. I tried out a few different things and experimented a bit more.. I hope you like ;)

I can’t wait for next years WPPI .. I’ll definitely be there!

All the best,

Sachin

On Sunday I set up a test shoot in London.

The last few weeks have been kind of hectic but glad that my new website is now LIVE! Thanks for all your feedback and support. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can check it out here.

It was great to get back to doing some more test shoots now that with the weather improving. Sunday was a great day for light, but it was really cold and very windy. Thanks to Olivia and Kasia for being great that day and putting up with some seriously tough weather conditions!

Here are some of my favourite images from the bridal portrait session..

Model: Olivia

Make Up Artist and Hair Stylist: Kasia Kaniewska

Now I’ll be getting ready for WPPI and my first wedding of 2011 which is coming up in a few weeks!

I cannot wait to get out to the States but I’m really looking forward to shooting out there and already setting up another test shoot.

See you in Vegas if you’re going!

SWPP – Shooting with Beckstead – London Wedding Photographer

Last week, I went to SWPP in London and booked a course with David Beckstead.

David has a great style of teaching and we walked around London looking for good light, interesting compositions and creative ways in which to shoot. I’m always looking to learn and improve my photography, so courses like this are perfect, learning from some of the best in the industry and in the world.

On top of that I met some fantastic photographers on the course. The models here were very professional and I hope I can credit them soon. [Waiting for details from SWPP]

This is one of my favourite images from the day. It was taken in the skateboard park area of South Bank, near the London Eye. It was raining at the time and so we looked for cover at the park.

I loved the shadows and light that was available, composing my shot so that some of the background was included to set the scene on this wet day.

Thanks David for a fantastic day and for taking time at the end to answer some of our questions!

[For Photographers, shot with Canon 5d, 50mm 1.4, ISO 800, AV f/4 at 1/125 - Shot in Monochrome]
